Butler Council backs inactive license transfer to Kinnelon

misc · Meeting of April 7, 2026

NJ BUTLER — Butler Borough Council votes to authorize license transfer to Kinnelon. The Council voted 4 to 0, with Councilmen MacDonald and Meier absent, to allow 1481 Realty, LLC to submit a bid transferring the borough's inactive plenary retail consumption License 1403-002-004 to neighboring Kinnelon for a regional redevelopment project. The transfer prevents the loss of an inactive license that cannot be renewed under state law and supports Kinnelon's development efforts.

Council also approved bills and payroll authorization in a matching 4-0 vote, with Mayor Martinez offering remarks thanking responders to a recent Main Street fire.
