Mayor and Council approves bills, holds property session

NJ BUTLER — Butler Mayor and Council unanimously approve bills amid property deliberation. The five-member council voted on May 5 to authorize payment of approximately $4.2 million in bills and vouchers under R 2026-73, with Council President Verdonik absent. Borough Administrator Matthew Guilder updated the council on BPU billing compliance status, noting that while Butler was removed from rate determinations, the borough remains subject to Energy Bill Watch requirements.

The council also voted unanimously to convene in closed executive session under R 2026-74 to discuss property acquisition, returning to open session at 7:21 p.m. The workshop meeting adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
